The Missing Week

While it probably seems we have fallen off the face of the earth, I promise we have not. Very late last Saturday night we departed Colorado Springs to head towards Charlotte. We had exactly 4 days to travel the 1600+ miles. Remember the desolate miles in Kansas from our trip two years ago, we decided to stop on the Colorado side of the border for the night. Sunday was a day full of driving, over 600 miles. We ended our day near the University of Missouri. Monday was another full day of driving, I drove over 500 miles myself and we ended our day on the eastern side of Nashville. Tuesday we drove to North Carolina and since we were a day ahead of schedule we stopped in Asheville to enjoy some country style food at the Farmer’s Market. Wednesday we drove into Charlotte, got a much needed truck wash and loaded our gear into the Omni hotel. On Thursday we dropped the RV off for a detail and provided services for a Plan Your Meeting Live event. As soon as it was over, we picked up the RV, loaded up and headed towards Birmingham. We stopped in Atlanta to do a little shopping and then drove to Alabama on Friday morning. Saturday was the Rebelution event in Gadsden. On display in the church lobby was the Ten Commandments statue that cost Judge Roy Moore his job as Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court. What a sad story in American history. Can you imagine if the case had gone before the US Supreme Court? Judge Moore would be staring past the judges and looking at a relief with the Ten Commandments behind the judges. He would have seen two other reliefs with Moses and the Ten Commandments in the same room. A bit ironic isn’t it?

George Mason’s quote, “The laws of nature are the laws of God, whose authority can be superseded by no power on earth.” Clearly shows the understanding that our forefathers had, versus the perverse politically correct world that we live in today.

Let’s just hope he wins in his bid to be the Governor of Alabama.
